The first edition of the Raíces de Soberanía Zine combined analog photography with audio recordings of conversations, interviews and walking tours of various farms around the island of Puerto Rico. It looked to integrate academic analysis, interviews with small holder farmers, and art to capture different imaginations of the enduring story of Puerto Rico. Food Sovereignty was a particularly strong focus of the material, as well as the mutual-aid groups of farmers which supported each other throughout the island.
